ouch… ouch… ouch…

here pain, there pain, everywhere pain….

in fact after last Saturday nite clubbing to celebrate Jesse’s birthday and also a pile of teddy-bathing, I had sort of backache. I think it was becoz since aeons ago the last time I wore a 3-inch heel to party and dance combined with the squatting to scrub all my teddies was a very tiring chore.

as I just recovered from the backache, today I took the plunge to join the bodypump class (wanted to do something different from the usual cardio). and now, I’m having shoulder pain, bicep pain, tricep pain, ab pain, buttock pain, hamstring pain… basically, every single muscles in my body ache badly. worse is I can’t lift my hand high up and I can’t walk too big steps :(

*sigh…* don’t know how am I going to pull through work tomorrow… definitely will be a very dreadful one…

health = wealth (vice versa)

I’ve been wanting to cut down weight desperately since I don’t even know when. no special reason… just to look better, feel better and of course to have better confidence in myself. mum had been nagging at my ridiculous weight that I had put own. and you know how much I hate being nagged. sometimes I just walked off and lock myself in my room just to avoid hearing her nagging at me.

I would say this horizontal expansion of me is partly my own fault (for not looking after my daily diet). yes, only partly ok and it’s definitely not a lame excuse! work had eaten up a large part of my life since last November. I was temporarily transferred to Singapore to handle a new project with dateline of end January then suddenly thrown into another project with just 1 month production time coz the dateline was mid March (not forgetting CNY was during February too). alrite, I kinda slacked off the remaining 2 weeks of March bcoz there was an even bigger wave on the way. the TIF AME project. yeah, the project that needed me to travel to 9 countries within 2 months. even recalling and typing out what have I done since November is already tiring and how can you expect me to work out during that phase right? absolutely no way…

now, I’m back and settled down after the Shanghai trip. I took a step out of my comfort zone and took the initiative to do whatever it takes to live healthily. first of all, I need a detox from all the rubbish I had swallowed into my body. I was kinda reluctant to try any of the detox tea again due to my previous horrible experience (it tasted really very bad). so all I did was just 3 days of no solid food, only pure water and my collagen drink. maybe it wasn’t a thorough detox but at least it cleaned up the pathway :D

then follow by careful diet meal. I do not want to go to extreme of not having lunch or skipping dinner as everyone knows it’s neither the right nor efficient way to lose weight. so I consulted a few friends who have been through diet planning with their personal trainer to get tips. I started to try and experiment different type of recipes like steam salmon with vege, smoked turkey breast roll, tuna salad, egg with nuts salad, buckwheat soba with miso soup (this is the only recipe that I fail, the soba boil until too soft). till now I am still consistently following on my diet meal with one or two day off from the regime to enjoy life with friends but still taking consideration of the calories.

what else to complete the whole cutting down weight package? of course the much needed exercise. I am now back to the gym again. not the same old basic gym but I had signed up with Chi Fitness. so far so good. it’s new and the facilities are great with lap pool, sauna and rain shower too. best of all, this gym is really something different from others that I had tried. it’s a resort concept gym. you know, resort… relax… chi… love it. I had 3 sessions last week and also one round of nature jogging with dear Jen. and yet I am still looking forward to tomorrow session. talk about good kick off momentum hehe... maybe I’m just too worried that I want to buck up my stamina before the personal trainer call for the fitness test hehe…

I seriously hope that the momentum will keep going. simply bcoz it’s not a cheap package to lose weight!!! At least for me…. gym fee, weekly grocery shopping for salmon, smoked turkey breast, buckwheat soba, energy bar so on so forth really cost me a hole in my pocket… but for a better me, a healthier me, this investment is necessary…

hhmmm… maybe I should try to sleep early, wake up early as a healthy lifestyle start too… nite nite…

pure indulgence

the gals, Kitty and Karen, are in town and we had super loud fun!!!

the gals were in town on Thursday evening but I didn’t manage to pick them up from the airport as I was busy running some long postponed errand (since 2.5 months ago to be exact). so I checked into Fraser Place first around 5pm and waited for their grand arrival (managed to take a short nap while waiting hehe…). finally, they arrived around 6pm and we started to prep up for dinner.

as arranged, we met up with Adam and Chee Hong at Alexis Bangsar for dinner at 730pm. we ordered quite a few main courses for sharing and had a bottle of dessert wine accompanying our all time favourite tiramisu (I’ll like to clarify here that Adam definitely did not have the wine). as we were done savouring and catching up, we couldn’t decide what to do next since the nite was still young (why do we always have the same problem even with my bunch of buddies?). after a series of ‘serious discussion and consideration’, we finally made an impromptu decision. to Genting we go… 5 people, 1 car and uphill we go… reached Genting around 1230am. weather was great, cold mild wind and clear starlight skies. as we bought the whole cake of tiramisu from Alexis but we couldn’t finish it earlier, we had it for second round again with a piping hot cappuccino and latte and chocolate at the Coffee Bean. felt like at the top of the world when you have yummilicious dessert, fragrant caffeinated latte, cold weather and best of all, great companions. what more can I ask, rite? great time always passed by damn quick and without realizing, it was already 3am hence we started to snail downhill and managed to reach our apartment at 4am. girls being the typical girls, we just couldn’t stop chatting until 530am when we decided to zip our mouths and get some sleep. you must be asking, so much to talk huh? frankly speaking, I got no comment too…. haha…

I think we used too much energy to talk the previous nite and caused us to feel so damn hungry early in the morning. we gotta force ourselves to wake up as early as 10am to grab a few bites from the breakfast buffet. then to the pool at the 18th floor we headed to laze. caught a glimpse of great city view. come to think of it, I think it’s my 1st time overlooking the whole KL in daylight at this height. I would say KL is quite an impressive city, no doubt. the great laze had accumulated a full bar energy for us and how else can we use these fully charged energy besides what girls do best…. shopping!!! my all time favourite shopping centre in the heart of KL, Pavillion, was our destination. ok… to cut it short, 3 of us had overspent tremendously. kinda had the guilty feeling but also had a contented satisfaction feeling too. girls… as always confused with what they feel :P. a bubbly long hot soak in the tub after a tiring day never fail to cure the fatigue. all dressed up with newly bought accessories and make-up, we were all ready to hit the Skybar. met up with Karen’s friends, Sam and David. it was a great way to spend the nite chilling with a glass (or two :P) of cocktail in the hand and chatting the whole night through. ended the day quite early around 3am.

came Saturday morning, we skipped the breakfast as we overslept hehe… only managed to move our lazy asses at noon time and headed to The Curve. had a relaxing brunch (or do you call it lunch coz it was actually 2pm already :P) at the bedroom corner of The Apartment. since we overspent on the previous day, we felt guilty and only did some window shopping but bought dozens of magazines while waiting the time for our spa. at 7pm sharp, we were already getting ready for our 2 hours cocoa spa at Royale Spa. the package includes of the lavender steam bath, full body cocoa scrub, cocoa wrap and aromatherapy massage, ear candling and out of the package, my masseuse specially prepared a bowl of peppermint oil for me to inhale becoz she heard that I had nose block and difficulty in breathing. I have to admit that the spa is not as good as lomi-lomi but her attentiveness deserves a credit too. since we were all refreshed, we didn’t want to strain out ourselves again that nite so we decided to get some wine and chill back in the apartment. but unfortunately, all the wine stores that I know had closed for the day after we had our dinner. tried calling for help from Kent but to no avail. so I paged for Kelvino to check if he happened to be in Palate Palette partying and yes, he was…. he was our hero for the nite! he bought us 2 bottles of white wine from the bar. I think it’s the charm of that 2 gals hehehe…. but anyway, thanks Kelvino.... we love you :P. after another hot soak in the tub around 1am, we headed up to the 18th floor poolside with 3 wine glasses, 2 bottles of wine, 3 boxes of Patchi chocolate (complimentary from our spa) in our bathrobe and home slippers on hahahaha…. I would say this is my best ever and most relaxing way of enjoying sips of wine under the starlight on KL city. simply pleasant….

this morning, we decided to skip the breakfast buffet for a naturally-wake-up-sleep. as predicted, we only got up around 11am and feeling damn hungry again. so I drove the gals for a good brunch, dimsum at Royal China. as usual, the dimsum was good and so was the service. after having a great start for the day, I dropped the gals at Berjaya Time Square for their Krispy Kreme craze. we were back to the apartment around 1pm to pack and check out. After sending the gals off to take their cab to the airport, I happily drove home to continue my lovely weekend.

I am glad you gals enjoyed ourselves so much and it was definitely the best time I had spent with both you gals ever since we’d been working together to almost 3 years. and now I can’t wait to see you gals again in Shanghai in the next few days…. we shall party our own way again soon :)

worked hard… now, play even harder…

finally it’s over… I no longer need to live in the suitcase anymore after all the travelling. yesterday marked the final league of my AME tour. I was elated in the morning before the event started but when it ended, I kinda had a mixed feeling. I’m glad it’s over but in the same time, I feel sad that I won’t be able to see the team anytime soon. after 2.5 months travelling together, making sure the event went smoothly together, breakfast, lunch and dinner together, hanging out together after every event and crapping together, we definitely build a very unique bonding. I’ll sure miss you all…..

today begins the day I should start slowing down and enjoy life. but unfortunately, today I was kinda forced to wake up early to head to the China embassy to apply the visa for my soon upcoming trip to Shanghai.

later in the noon, I managed to catch up with Shearwell who is coincidently on leave today too. since I had promised my mum to cut down my weight after my AME tour, we decided to have lunch at O’Brien’s. so healthy rite? no choice lor... a promise is a promise and it's for my own good sake anyway. after lunch, we headed to the supermarket to grab some ingredient to begin with my healthy diet. I bought some dark chocolate cereals, smoked turkey breast, lettuce, walnut, Italian vinaigrette, tuna chunks, seaweed and corn for my energise breakfast, turkey California roll and tuna salad. yum yum…. delicious yet healthy.

initially wanted to have a good spa but due to some unforeseen reason, I can’t have spa or massage at this moment. hence, I splurged myself in a good manicure and pedicure spa. I enjoyed it so much that I had signed up as a member too hehe…. and I got the next session for 50% off woohoo… can’t wait for the next session.

tomorrow Kitty and Karen will be heading in to town from Singapore. I am oh-so excited as the theme for this trip is ‘girls just wanna have fun!’ I will be staying with them at Fraser Place in city centre and I can already sense that it will sure be hell lot of fun with these 2 siao zha bo hahaha….

that’s all for now…. till I have crazy fun with the gals and the upcoming trip to Shanghai…. ciao...
