high on wii

while partying at Kelvino’s place during the halloween day, I spotted something white and small and sleek laying on the floor next to his 42 inch lcd tv. being the usual curious me, I went to busybody and found out it was actually a wii set. I always wanted to play wii but I have no friends owning a wii set. hence I was so excited (like a lil kid getting new toys) and kept on bugging him to setup the wii. But he said no wii for that nite and we shall concentrate partying... ok, fine... but with the terms, he agreed to let me bring the wii set home hehehe...

so there it goes… one whole set of wii is now at my home but unfortunately, I didn’t have the time and chance to play until last sunday. I tried most of the games and even tried playing the shooting game that my company developed but it was quite lame after a while coz it is supposedly meant for kids. ever since last sunday, I got so addicted to it that I need to play everynite before I hit my bed... but I only play either car racing or tennis (I prefer tennis bcoz it involves full body movement) until 2plus morning and every morning waking up to work is horribly dreadful.

Kelvino... it’s all your fault!!! I’m now all so obsessed to it and I’m definitely not returning the wii set to you... wahahaha

everything has its first time

the title says it all. can you guess what happened yesterday? yeah... I played paintball for the 1st time. I know I may be too old for a paintball first timer :( but hey, at least I did it for no regrets...

we had planned to meet up at office area at 12pm for a lunch before we headed onto the battlefield. then we received a sms from CheeHong saying he will have his lunch at home (you owe us a meal for ffk us!). so ended up only me and Adam had lunch together while waiting for CheeHong to arrive. it was 115pm that we departed to Desa Waterpark and it was raining cats and dogs during the whole journey. we were quite worry as we didn’t know whether we are taking the indoor or the outdoor game. I heard people say outdoor is much more fun but at that very moment, I will prefer to have it indoor as I do not want to splatter myself on the mud. we reached our destination at 145pm and since we were the first to arrive, we got the marshals in charged to allow us to take a tour to our battlefield. it was an indoor uninhabited carpark building. that place smells bad but our excitement overcame the bad smell haha… after 16 of us had finally arrived, the head marshal gathered us to brief us on the rules and regulations of the game. then we took lucky draw to divide into 2 groups of 8 people and I was in a team with CheeHong but Adam was in another team. now we were all set and ready to kill each other haha…

the 1st game was ‘capturing the flag’ and it was supposingly to play 5 rounds to determine the winner. once we reached the 3rd level of the deserted carpark, we were briefed by our team leader, Kelvin, on the strategies. everyone ready to charge!!! however, it was my first time in the battlefield hence I was quite scared and all I did was hide and shoot whatever I can see. 1st game-1st round, we won with me getting no ‘wound’. Then 1st game-2nd round, I saw the enemy strike from behind and before I managed to trigger the gun, he had captured the flag so the other team won. 1st game-3rd round, we were paired up with our partner to protect each other during the strike-defense strategy. it was my turn to strike when my partner defended me but I was ambushed and there goes my first shot... on the face. there was no pain coz the mask was on but the paint splatter onto my face through the breathing holes of the mask. but still we won this round. after the 3rd round, marshals called for time break. we rested and bullshitted during the time break haha... it was quite tiring running up and down the two floors of carpark and not to forget to squat and hide. after that, we decided to move on to the 2nd game since all of us got enough of the 1st game.

2nd game was ‘last man standing’. this time, again I got killed on the face. face splattered with paint again but by then, dirtiness is not in our dictionary anymore. we were all fully covered with paint and dirt and dusts.

3rd game was also ‘last man standing’ but this round was only 4 people per group at one time. since this was the last game, everyone played safe hence they hid and waited for ‘object’ to shoot (I guess they wanted to stay longer in the game). since I thought it was getting boring with everyone just waiting. I decided to make the move. am not sure whether should I call it a stupid move but half way running to the next hideout, I saw many many (and I do mean many) bullets heading my way. it was something like the scene in ‘the matrix’ where I could see the bullets coming nearer and nearer to me. bam! I was hit one direct hit on the left leg, one indirect hit on the right leg and the most painful one was the bullet that hit on my right baby finger. I surrendered and tagged my other teammate out to the battlefield and stayed safe at dead zone. I checked my wounds and there was great pain on my baby finger until my fingers were shivering. the pain on the legs was nothing comparable to my baby finger. the game ended with zero bullets left and we had 2 last men standing from my team... hooray... despite the ‘killing of enemy’ and playing with ‘total strangers’, I believe we all ended having great fun.

after taking happy pictures and washing up, I was fresh and cheerful. that’s when I sms-ed Kent telling him tat I will join them clubbing that nite. then we headed to bangsar for our dinner and shared our experience in the game.

it was 730pm that I reached home and I decided to take a power nap. after I woke up and trying to get ready for the nite, I started to regret agreeing Kent for joining them but I am sure I can't ffk or else I will really get killed. hence I dragged myself to get prepared and waited for Kent to fetch us. all the while I thought we were heading to Velvet until Kent fetched me and informed that we were heading to a new club with four seasons at Avenue K name Quattro. my first thought at that very moment was will it be the same as MOS coz I really love MOS in Singapore... after fetching Jen & Wah and met up with Zephyr at the club entrance, we had decided to pick autumn as our season of the nite. Quattro Autumn club claimed to have the longest bar with local and international djs appearance.

it was only 11ish pm when we entered but the crowd in the club was already crazily swarmed. I love the interior design of the autumn season. it was full with glasses and mirrors and reflective metals. I find it very chic… but we ended up hanging out at one corner of the long bar as for whatsoever reason that we didn’t call to book a table. not sure whether we should say it was a good spot or not as it was actually right in front of the dj turntable but it was also where the traffic flows too. anyway, as long as we had great fun, it does not matter to me at all. although it was our first time at that club, we indeed had an awesome nite. but I think this was due to big contribution of Zephyr’s presence for sure hehe… she’s always the fun-bringer with her crazy attitude and it is never dull with her being around. she also never fail clicking with ‘ben-look-alike’, ‘lau yau aka alex, the sinseh’, ‘the african couple with a humungous-boobs-galfriend’ and Hamed & friend from ‘Milan’ (I very strongly believe he’s from Iran as heard by me and Jen then Milan judging from his name itself haha…)

as usual, we will definitely head to mamak for a satisfying supper after a clubbing session. this time round, we headed to Sri Murni at SS2 since Kent needed to send Zephyr home. as I was still in sober condition and being craving that particular dish since long ago, I ordered claypot loh shu fen due to high recommendation by Wah. it was not bad but certainly not as good as the one I had at Sri Kembangan while I was in uni. in the midst of enjoying our supper, Kent commented that clubbing is not our thing anymore as our age is catching up and we easily felt tired after the clubbing session. I personally do not agree with that as I still prefer clubbing than pub-ing. I guess I love loud music pumping to my ears and grooving to my favorite beats rather than sitting back and enjoy a pint of beer. no offence to Kent’s statement but it’s my personal preference…

all well ends well. although I was all exhausted and wounded with blueblack bruises on my legs, knees, finger (paintball after effect), cigarette burn on my hand and bruises on my toes (thanks to Jen’s contribution) but I think it was definitely one of my most wounded yet productive weekend. enjoy it to the bits :)

daddy... di... loh dao...

these are the way how I always refer my world greatest father and today is my daddy’s 60th birthday. I would like to wish him happy birthday and may you blessed with greatest health and joy. since today is daddy’s big day for the 60th year, I would like to make this blog entry as a tribute to my daddy...

daddy is always the ‘good one’ of the parents. I still remember that when I was a kid and whenever mummy disagrees to get me something, all I have to do is run to daddy and sulk my lips then I’ll get what I want.

I still remember daddy is the one who always pamper me whenever I get caning from my mummy and he will explain the reason mummy punished me.

I still remember how daddy made me stay up whole nite long for being too stubborn to obey to family rules.

I still remember daddy always brought me to stadium merdeka to watch the local football match when I was a kid. this is how I got interested to football although I wouldn’t say I love football.

I still remember daddy always brought me to Taman Tasik Perdana to jog every weekend when I was a kid.

I still remember I joined daddy for the 1st ‘change the world’ jogathon, a charity for aids foundation, and was filmed on national tv as the youngest kid running the adult route. until today, daddy still always mentioned that I managed to finish the race although I didn’t run all the way.

I still remember how daddy struggled to get extra money to pay for my Singapore holiday trip with my friends after my PMR exam when I eventually cried after hearing that they couldn’t afford to pay me for the trip.

I still remember how daddy cried when we knew that my grandma passed away. I still remember he mumbled ‘sorry for being such a useless son for not giving you the best of life’

I still remember how sad daddy was when he almost wanted to sell the house that we are currently staying to move the whole family back to Ipoh.

I still remember how proud daddy was when I was the 1st Lim that entered university and graduated 2nd upper class.

there are definitely tonnes and tonnes of memory with my daddy but these are the few that has the strongest impact and influence in my life.

I just hope that daddy has his best birthday present at Langkawi and I shall try my best to be the best daddy’s gal in the world. happy 60th birthday, daddy!
