it has been quite a tough week for me. really… to get me out of my comfort zone and changing my lifestyle is something that I can’t imagine doing it.
but I had decided to just do it. after much reading and surveys done, I had determined to take up the detox program. I must insist that it is not a slimming program as I really do not believe in those but it's an intermediate detox program to assist your liver to clear the toxin that was kept in your body for too long and the best is you can do it in the comfort of your home. the turn down is to change my meal plan to have a better result. so since Monday, I had a pre-detox meal (just salad and soup). then came Wednesday, a public holiday for Hari Raya Qurban and my first day for my korban (meaning sacrifice in malay). it was quite easy for the first day with only fruits consumption and staying at home relaxing. but when it comes to the second and third day, reality hit me. so many temptations in the office (call for lunch from colleagues and friends) and the uneasy feeling of no warm food in the stomach. fourth day got me craving for hot and spicy food even though I can consume small amount of lightly stir fried vege and tofu. what more with my aunts in town and bringing them to savour asam laksa for lunch and curry fish head for dinner is really not helping at all…
today, marks my fifth day of detox also the day for my first long distance run after ditching it since secondary school. the run was quite a taxing one. 8km with 2 hiking trails up and downhill besides the normal connecting tar road. but I did it in 1.5 hours time. I would like to think that I had pushed myself to the max and it’s not bad of a result considering of my current form. yet, I insisted not having Milo nor 100plus even though it was much needed at that very moment at the finish line and the fact that it is just right in front of me :( but I failed at the breakfast session. I couldn’t find popiah at any of those stalls thus ordered fish ball noodle soup which I believe is the lightest meal of all the other stalls (I wanted beehoon but they didn’t have it so I was forced to take the oily kueyteow) and now I am having diarrhea. suspecting is the effect of the detox from cleansing of the oily consumption.
and tomorrow will be another full of temptations day in the office. but it will not bring me down because I can have hardboiled egg salad for lunch :P however to think of having to travel on the last day of my detox program got me quite worried. I do not want to screw up the whole program at the very ending point.
well… sometimes when the going gets tough, the tough get going. no doubt, all these out of comfort zone situations will definitely push you one step ahead. and believe me, it’s always about mind over matter.
so who's up for a curry noodle or tomyam noodle on wednesday lunch? :P

what goes around, comes around...
whenever I'm out late or 'early' (as in wee hours), mum will definitely call me to check on me. without fail, no matter I go out with who. and most of the time, I find it very annoying eventhough I understand they are just worried.
today, am home early as I can't join the jukari class and just being a good girl hanging out at home. I am now home alone with Shareen because mum has yoga class and dad has to work late. but at this hour, almost midnite and yet both of them are not home yet got me feeling very uneasy. so, I call to check on them. mum is still yumcha-ing with her yoga buddies and dad is having supper with his colleague.
well... talk about what comes around, goes around... I promise I will never be annoyed by those check-on-me call anymore :)

weekend comes, weekend goes…
although this weekend passes by so quickly, but it’s undeniably one of my most enjoyable weekend too.
got an impromptu invitation on Friday evening to join a halloween party. I was quite reluctant to join as I really didn’t want to make any effort to dress up, what more to dress up scarily. ended up I dressed up as a pirate slut. just because I have a pair of fish net stocking, a pirate hat and the one sided eye cover from my company d&d few years back. it was another crazy drink and crap session with those wackos…
the routine Saturday morning, all ready for a good sweat-out class. but this time was a bit dreadful as I could still feel the alcohol flowing in my blood veins (thanks to all the blood suckers :P). that aside, I want to announce something very important here(at least I think it’s important to me). I am now officially a bodypump intermediate-er. yes, my instructor had forced me to upgrade from the beginner 2.5kg to a 5kg and I pulled it through the whole class… woohoo… but now, my muscles still aching :( i guess, it's really no pain, no gain.
finally managed to meet up with Lai together with Adam for lunch. although it’s only merely a year knowing him, there’s this special friendship that makes me feel very comfortable with him. Lai… wish you all the best in New Zealand and enjoy yourself to the max. if time and money permits, I’ll come visit you next year ok… and we do bungee jump together… hehehe
as Rachel couldn’t make it for next Friday (dad’s exact birthday) so we had decided for an early celebration for dad’s upcoming 62nd birthday. dad requested for a western cuisine dinner but I didn’t want to go to the usual Victoria Station nor The Ship so I made the decision to head to the newly renovated Monte’s Restaurant at Bangsar Shopping Centre. one of my most satisfied dinner. not just because their escargots are real good (it was so good that we ordered 2 dozens of escargots), also seeing dad chewed all the meat off his lamb rack and mum almost licked clean her cheesy beef steak sandwich is my happiest moment that nite. I am glad they enjoyed the dinner so much. oh guess what, dad loves Dr Loosen too haha…
after a packed Saturday, today I slept all the way until 12pm. thanks to the sunday-serenity in the house and the excellent weather. I refuse to leave home due to the weather. no, don’t get me wrong… it’s not because it’s too hot that I do not want to go outdoor but the weather is so good that I just want to laze on my bed to finish up my Merde and just purely relax… it’s so rejuvenating after a good rest and the fact that it’s gonna be a 4 days work week, everything just feels so good…
yes, weekend came and weekend gone but the next weekend is coming soon anyway... and yet another short roadtrip with the regulars is what I’m looking forward to for next weekend :)

I almost forgot…
today I attended 2 wedding ceremonies, Nic & Eva and Kevin & Chris.
Nic & Eva’s wedding is my most anticipated wedding ceremony that I had been before. a summer-garden theme wedding. it is definitely something different, something simple and yet the most lovely ceremony I had participated. there was no typical ‘heng-dai and ji-mui’ act, nor red packet collection during luncheon. it’s just simple greeting the bride, tea ceremony for both their parents and immediate relatives, exchange of marriage vow and end with a western style luncheon. I would rate this as the best wedding ceremony.
Kevin & Chris’s wedding is really extravagant. typical rich family holding a wedding ceremony but no doubt the food is great, the wine is smooth and the atmosphere is soothing with jazz band throughout whole nite. indeed the most exaggerated wedding dinner I had attended before.
with so much love in the air flowing around, I suddenly have this urge to write this emo post. I’m just a normal gal ok… and a normal gal like me has all the rights in the world to be emo bout her life.
it’s been quite a while since I last be a ‘receiver’. it doesn’t matter to receive in the sense of financial or emotion or even security. I’ve been a ‘full-time provider’ or perhaps a ‘self provider’ since I last broke off. you know… providing financial partially to my family, providing thoughts to family and friends, providing treats for myself, providing sympathy for myself. somehow this ‘provider’ role of mine has slowly taught me to become an independent gal. alrite…. an independent yet emo gal…
and I just realized that today I was given the chance to become the ‘receiver’. the honour of having someone picking me up from doorstep, accompanying me to wedding ceremonies, making sure I have my favourite dish on my plate and getting me out of awkward situations.
so what have I almost forgotten? I almost forgot the joy of being the ‘receiver’… and I just wanna say, I enjoyed today and thank you for letting me be the 'receiver' for the day :)

tententen!!!
today mark 101010 which only occur once in a 100 years. I am fortunate to be able to witness and enjoy this special date with my family and friends.
it was suppose to be a very significant date for Jen, Kent & me which we had set half year ago. at first it illustrated quite a positive lead towards our tententen. but you know, life is full of shits… it never turn out as good as we always planned and in fact, it was quite disappointing. but it’s alrite, I’m sure she is just as devastated as me. despite the disappointment, you let me know ya gal, if I can offer any help in any way :)
so how is your 101010? I’m sure some take this chance to mark their big chapter of their life (their marriage…). for those with birthday that falls on 10th October, I’m sure this year is one special celebration too. some might even party all night long last night to countdown this special date or do something outrageous like base jumping!
mine? so far so great!
a month back, Jen spotted a newsletter from hooHA! about 101010 fun run. we thought since it’s just a fun run then why not. so we invited Kent too, just simply because so happen that we bumped him on the cyberspace. half way through, we all got kinda lazy to do the registration and all so we sort of decided to just forget bout it. but out of the blue, heard that Hoe was interested in the fun run too. Hoe? run? hhmmm… that’s something interesting :P so we finally decided to just do it. and yes, we did it this morning, it was quite dreadful to wake up so early (freaking early indeed, as it was at 645am) but it was definitely something different to do with my buddies on this special date. shall we do it again or more often, my buddies?
what’s the best remedy to cure an exhausted body after a worn-out weekend? what else… spa! last Thursday was mum’s birthday and since I couldn’t figure out what best present for her, I decided to treat her for a spa session (since I need it badly too hehehe…). instead of my usual spa parlour, I decided to try out the ‘Energy Day Spa Mont' Kiara’. it was my first time having spa session with my mum and undeniably a unique way to celebrate 101010 with her too.
let’s end this 101010 with some ‘ten’talizing happenings… enjoy life…
